Macheda: Berbatov and Pogba would do very well in Italy

Federico Macheda believes that his Manchester United team-mates Dimitar Berbatov and Paul Pogba have the ability to succeed in Italian football.

Berbatov looks set to leave the Red Devils in the summer after falling out of favour under Sir Alex Ferguson, while Pogba has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus after stalling over a new deal to remain at Old Trafford.

Macheda, currently on loan at QPR, is confident that the Bulgarian striker in particular would have no problems fitting into the style of football in Italy should he move to Serie A.

"Berbatov is a great player, and certainly could do very well for the Bianconeri Juventus,” he told Tutto Juve. "A great striker like him would be perfect.

"I think he would fit in well in Serie A. Berbatov could do very well in Italy because he's a great champion.

"We're talking about a very strong player, a great striker. he would do well in tandem with Mirko Vucinic. Berbatov is powerful and strong technically, when he is fit he makes a difference.

“He becomes virtually unstoppable with his great technique which combines with his powerful physique."

It had been speculated recently that Pogba was on his way out of Old Trafford after agreeing to move to Juventus but, while Sir Alex Ferguson insists that is not yet the case, nothing further has been decided by the midfielder.

Macheda added of the youngster: "Pogba is a great player. Paul is really strong and could do very well in Italy."
