Olympique de Marseille midfielder Alou Diarra has urged his team-mates to be "very aggressive" in order to keep Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery quiet in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday.
Diarra, who was under contract at Bayern from 2000 until 2002, is full of praise for his compatriot, and believes the 28-year-old winger will punish Marseille if they allow him any space.
"I know Franck Ribery well from the French national team. He's not little Franck any more, he's Franck the great, Le Kaiser! He'll be very motivated by coming back to the Stade Velodrome, and when he's motivated, he's very dangerous," Diarra was quoted as saying on the Bayern website.
"We have to neutralise him as much as possible. We have to get him busy in defence, win our tackles, show aggression, and not let him build up steam. Once he gets going, he's incredibly hard to stop.
"He’s a vital component in the Bayern attack. He’s always good for a surprise and can make the difference."
